I have no qualms with the current usage rates of the yellow pages. I'm sure there is still a very healthy market for them, however, my point is about personal choice and creating awareness that we don't have to keep receiving a service we never use.
The companies that drop them off on my porch a couple of times a year have no idea if I use them or not - they assume. They assume that every household needs their book. The problem is that there may be 5 different companies making this assumption. This means that I receive multiple, competing services that I never utilize. This is simply wasteful and my goal in opting-out is to try to limit the waste that I produce on a personal level. Plus, I want others to do the same. Is that elitest? Or responsible?

I went to your website to add our nursing home, which is the ONLY nursing home in Buena Vista, GA. When I searched I found several Magnolia Manor entries with various phone numbers, many are non-working numbers. When I attempted to delete, I was not able to due to not having set them up originally.

Hope to hear soon.

We are a carbide saw and cutter sharpening, and sales company in Mcdonough, I see no particular category that we would fit in without many phone calls searching for things that we do not offer. A category for saw blade sharpening would help us out. Joe

1. It looks like you're heading in the right direction for a useful yellow pages substitute. For me, the trick is to follow Google's lead: keep it clean and simple. That makes it more attractive and easier to use.
2. The floating window on the right side is very annoying. Just lock it to the top and leave it at that.

Consider adding click to call functionality to your listings. Its a great feature, people love it, and easy to add. You might even be able to partner with a provider and cross promote each other. PremiumTalk is currently offering it for free. Worth looking in to.

Your service seems interesting. How do people find you? What incentives do you offer for someone to put your search Gadget/Widget on their site? You have a tab for Commissions, but I do not see your commission structure. Where is an FAQ for more info on your service? Where do we find statistics on pageviews, clickthroughs, etc from your site? All the best as you roll-out and ramp up your services. Simon W Rosenberg, DMD Prosthodontist and Cosmetic Dentistist (and Internet Entrepreneur at www.InternetDentalEnterprises.com)

Search by distance? Long Beach, CA, like many other cities has many neighborhood. Results that are across town can be useless. I want to search within my neighborhood.

If I search for Pizza like in the example search, I get pizza throughout Long Beach even though I only entered my local zip code. As well out of 68 pizza results only one is delivery? A search site is no good if the data is bad and the results are irrelevant.

I noticed on gomylocal site that you are advertising a Kentucky local mover that is operating in the Commonwealth of Kentucky illegally. This company is not licensed or authorized to perform local or intrastate household goods relocations within Kentucky.
Anyone using this illegal company is subject to the truck their possessions are loaded onto being stopped and confiscated by the Kentucky Department of Transportation Enforcement Officers.
I highly reccommend that before you hire a company to move your household goods to check with the Federal and/or State Division of Motor Carriers to be sure they are Licensed and Certified. Also check with your local Better Business Bureau.
There are rogue movers advertising that they are legal, but it is always better to check them out. It's better to be safe than sorry...
